The chemistry of alkaline ionized water
The intent of this article is to give you a better understanding of the chemistry of water so you can eventually understand better the potential benefit of Alkaline Ionized Water .
As most of us know water is made of one atom of oxygen and two atoms of hydrogen. It is expressed in the chemical symbol of water which is H2O. Water is a universal solvent because it can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. The hydrogen atom has one positive proton with one negative electron revolving around it. Oxygen has 8 protons with 8 electrons revolving around it. The single hydrogen electron and the 8 electrons of oxygen are an essential part of the chemistry of life. This process of hydrogen and oxygen atoms
combining to form a water molecule, or split to form ions is part of the fundamental chemistry of life. In a water molecule, two hydrogen atoms are bonded to a single oxygen atom. Now, because the oxygen atom is bigger than the hydrogen atom, it attracts the hydrogen’s
electrons and are drawn closer to oxygen atom. Although the water molecule is a stable one, the greater mass of the oxygen nucleus tends to draw in all the electrons in the molecule including the shared hydrogen electrons giving the oxygen portion of the molecule
a slight electronegative charge. The shells of the hydrogen atoms, because their electrons are closer to the oxygen, take on a small electropositive charge. This means water molecules have a tendency to form weak bonds with water molecules because the oxygen end of the molecule is negative and the hydrogen ends are positive.
Again because of such weak bonds is in essence the chemistry of life.
This is also why we call water the universal solvent. It is a natural solution that breaks the bonds of larger, more complex molecules. This is the chemistry of life on earth, in water and on land.
Because of the ionization process use to produce Alkaline Ionized Water , the water molecule are smaller and therefore can hydrate the body more effectively.
